1960s PARAGON CELTIC MEDALLION CUP & SAUCER Cobalt Blue & Gold Filigree details

  
Cobalt Blue & Gold Filigree. Striking pattern which I have called "CELTIC MEDALLION" as the design is certainly so inspired. Beautiful rich deep cobalt blue colorway and prominent gold filigree. A gold footed cup base. Virtually mint condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, staining, other damage or restoration - both pieces pass the "ping" test.

No wear to the transfer design and no visible wear to gold gilding. It honestly does not look as though it was ever used. The large open shape and pronounced handle is similar to the famous ATHENS shape used by Aynsley.

Cup measures 2 1/4" tall at sides, and 2 1/2" to top of handle and 4 7/8" across including handle; saucer 5 1/2" across. Marked with Paragon shield mark used in the 1960s. Please ignore all white spots on all photos caused by camera flash. This lovely cup and saucer would make a great addition to your collection. Please remember that my items are vintage and not store-bought-new and some minor wear from age and use should be expected.
