ROYAL DOULTON English Bone China. Wow this is one stunning Royal Doulton service plate, which is unnumbered.

One can see 1.8.28 imprinted into the back. The design is comprised of a wide lattice pattern in gold, along with many embellishments, including the incorporation of cobalt blue trims. The detailed decoration extends down past the verge and well onto the center area a highly desirable feature for service plates. This pattern is generously embellished with raised paste gold to catch the light. The center ground is cream.

As a final remark, the gold trim on the base at the back of each plate is something Royal Doulton often adds to its high-end service plates just a nice finishing touch to remind us these are extra special!
