Dresden Hand Painted Courting Couple Raised Gold & Cobalt Blue Covered Cup A Beautiful porcelain covered cup with gilt entwined snake handle and gilt feet. The cup is decorated with a hand painted courting couple framed by raised gold gilt floral scrollwork and small raised enamel pink roses and blue and yellow forget me not flowers over a cobalt blue background.
The saucer is decorated in pink with the same raised gold floral scrollwork and enameled flowers, but also with a gold lattice design with small gold beads. The lid is decorated in pink with raised gold floral scrollwork and enameled flowers. Marked on the bottom with a blue H in a triangle above Dresden.
This mark was used by Heufel in Dresden between 1900 and 1940. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. The cup measures approximately 3 5/8 inches wide including the handle x 3 1/4 inches tall without the lid. The cup measures approximately 4 3/4 inches tall including the lid. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide.
