RARE 1890s Knowles Taylor Knowles KTK Lotus Ware Cobalt Blue, White, Gold Cup. The Lotus Ware line began production in 1892 and was publicly introduced at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Due to the difficulty of production and the the company only releasing "perfect" pieces, it is estimated that up to 90% of the items produced were destroyed, leading to its discontinuation in 1896. The accounts I have read estimate that only 5000 or so pieces of Lotus Ware survive today. Cup rim is about 2 1/4 in diameter.

Condition is good for age and extremely delicate nature of the set with no cracks and no chips except for a small chip along the bottom. There is wear to the gilding, particularly to the handle.
